Anant Chaturdashi is a day when Lord Ganesh Leaves from our home towards a journey to their home. This day indicates that devotees should lead Lord Ganesh to his journey through procession and with joy. Before the procession ceremony a Pooja is performed by pandit followed by Ganesh Aarti. Modak as Prasad is prepared for this Pooja. After Aarti the idol of Lord Ganesh is slightly moved to indicate the Visarjan process.

Later Lord Ganesha’s idol is carried on shoulder of a devotee or on a decorated vehicle towards Visarjan. Throughout the Visarjan journey from home to river/lake or sea, devotees chant Lord Ganesha’s name and mantra.
